PT Privacy Policy
Protect PT is committed to protecting the privacy and accuracy of confidential information to the extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law. Other than as required by laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information, or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access, personal information is not actively shared. In particular, we do not re-distribute or sell personal information collected on our web servers.
Information collected:
Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data").
This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. Protect PT does not associate this data to individual user identities.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this data.
Form Data
Information is collected and stored when users log in to the site and submit forms. In order to manage individual accounts for managing individual user reports, the site collects an email address from every user. If the user chooses to use the Facebook or Google Login options, the Protect PT site still collects the email address associated with whichever login option you use, but it gets access from the data already stored on those platforms with user consent. If the user creates a login specific to the Protect PT Reporting App, the site also stores an encrypted version of the user's password.
Additionally, because the main purpose of the site is the creation and management of environmental observation reports, the following information is also requested and collected when going through the process of submitting a report:
- Full Name
- Street Address
- Zip Code
- County
- Phone Number
- GPS Data
All of this needs to be volunteered directly by the user in order for the site to store it along with data specific to the environmental issue reports being made. Security measures are in place to make this personal data available only to Protect PT. This information is only collected to help Protect PT give accurate information to users about how to report issues to the appropriate authorities and allow Protect PT to follow up as needed. This information will not be sold to a third party.

Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you will not have the fully optimized user experience available to users that do enable them.
Use of collected information:
Protect PT will only use personal information collected from this site for the purpose of communication back to individuals who contact us via the site as well as giving relevant information and resources to the user.
Protect PT uses browser-IP-address information and anonymous-browser history to report information about site accesses and for profiling purposes. This information is used to improve Web presentation and utilization. IP address information may also be used for troubleshooting purposes.
